Old Nelson Fire Station Roof - 2005
The tenants in the old Nelson Fire Station building had a problem with the roof leaking badly. The original roof was 50 plus years old, and in need of refurbishment.
Construction Coatings Nelson Ltd provided a cost effective solution in a liquid applied two-layer system from France known as Cunoir/Cural. The roof was cleaned and primed, then the first coat of Cunoir was applied - a thick bituminous tar-like material, followed by a second coat. After curing the Cunoir was overcoated with Cural bituminous aluminium coating for UV protection. The roof has now had a number of years service with no issues or leaks. Great result at a reasonable cost.
